Three north-central Illinois lawmakers drew a large crowd on Tuesday, as 100 residents attended a Town Hall Meeting held at the DeKalb County Community Outreach Building in DeKalb.
State Senator Dave Syverson (R-Rockford), State Representative Jeff Keicher (R-Sycamore), and State Representative Tom Demmer (R-Dixon) spoke to a group of 100 residents about pressing issues in Illinois, including the budget, pension debt, legalization of recreational marijuana, government consolidation and taxes.
The meeting featured a slideshow presentation followed by a question-and-answer period moderated by Eric Olson, General Manager of the Daily Chronicle.
“I appreciated the opportunity to speak with constituents about the issues that are important to them,” said Demmer. “We covered a variety of topics and the public was very engaged in the conversation.”
